5 Facts You Should Know About Analog Devices

1
Automotive is the $3.3B growth engine — BMS for Ford and BMW, 77GHz radar, A2B audio — one of the few analog companies dominating both safety and infotainment.
2
$21B Maxim acquisition reshaped the industry — Added power management + automotive portfolio. Edinburgh site is a direct legacy of this deal.
3
€630M EU investment for European expansion — Limerick wafer fab + Edinburgh design centre. Europe is a strategic growth bet, not a cost centre.
4
ISO 26262 + ASPICE certified processes — Safety-critical software is the default, not the exception. Automotive-grade engineering across the board.
5
61.5% gross margin outperforms most analog peers — Automotive + Industrial = 75% of revenue. Consistent R&D investment means engineers work on hard problems with proper funding.

The Role

Senior Embedded Software Engineer
  • Own embedded firmware for automotive BMS and sensor platforms — C/C++ on bare-metal and RTOS
  • Work directly with analog IC design teams — bridge the gap between silicon and software
  • ISO 26262 functional safety — design for ASIL-B/D automotive safety integrity levels

This role sits in ADI’s Edinburgh design centre (ex-Maxim), one of the few UK sites doing automotive-grade embedded firmware for a $11B semiconductor company.
